Loran orders new longline and gillnet vessel🙌
Loran has signed a contract with Larsnes Mek. Verksted for the construction of a new longline and gillnet vessel designed by Skipsteknisk.
The vessel will be 64.4 metres long and 14.5 metres wide. The newbuild is based on Skipsteknisk’s ST-007 design, with delivery scheduled for the first quarter of 2029.
Tailored to the owner’s operations
The vessel has been developed in close collaboration with the shipowner, based on the company’s operational experience and requirements. Particular emphasis has been placed on energy efficiency, reliable solutions and high quality.
The vessel’s layout and equipment are designed to ensure an efficient workflow from fishing operations and catch handling through to processing, freezing and storage. The aim is to combine efficient operations with careful handling of the catch, ensuring that its quality is maintained through to delivery.
Norwegian suppliers and local outfitting
Norwegian equipment suppliers will provide key deliveries within fishing equipment, processing and freezing systems, propulsion, electrical systems and automation. Together with Skipsteknisk’s design work and the outfitting at Larsnes, the project will generate work for a broad range of companies across Norway’s maritime supplier industry.
